/agree. Basically all the female professions boobs jiggle, when they do basically, everything. And last time I checked, any parent (one that cares about their child) watching their kid playing a game where 90% of the female armor is hardly anything, and their boobs shake at everything, I'd be more pissed over the partial nudity, etc, over a slightly offensive name.
I've been warned, but not banned, because some douce got butthurt over my PvP chars name: Fiery Firecrotch.
And when I asked why, he told me he was an angry black guy...but if he was black, he wouldnt have a firecrotch anyway... >.>
And I always get compliments on that name.

Well, in AoC, you are allowed to use whatever language you like as long as you dont abuse people or make racist comments.
Just a comparison, I guess I should skick to playing 18+ games only then, but I cant get over my addiction to arenas in GW.
I wonder if anyone has reported Shoo Pervert, because that is offensive and calling people perverts ...

pffffffffft, I just wanted something crafty to put in my location box like everyone else, but I don't think Shoo Pervert would get banned, but it probally would, knowing Anet, you can't even use the word "gasm". rofl.

I was thinking of naming my next character
Hi I Am Bi or Bi Hexual
Subtle, effective, mildly humorous, and I can see if it gets banned or not.

Never. I believe that a fantasy game should have strict filters to force people into picking actual names and not shite like "tits magee".
Disagree all you want, I am not changing my view. Stupid names are a pet peeve of mine.
And to everyone saying it should allow "adult content", since when is using childish names "adult"? Time to grow up.

Well, I did email customer suport and said that I didnt mind losing a character, but how was a 7 day ban just for a character that had been created 12 months ago when it wasnt against the rules to create funny sexually suggestive names.
I have only had automated responses so far, but just want to hear why they think it is ok to penalise innoffensive names.

Grown ups are allowed to have a sense of humor. I love adult themed jokes.
This is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nig1KHKF5qI
Adult, cheesy, very naughty, yet funny (Jack Black's lord of the rings sketch).
BTW I still have my PVE Mesmer called D Is For Lysdexia. Is that name offensive?

Please bear in mind that players who create a character with a name that results in that character's blocking will receive a disciplinary mark on that account. This means that the player will be unable to play Guild Wars on any character for a specific period of time. Upon expiration of the account block, the character will become accessible and may then be renamed or deleted. Please note that you will not lose anything in this character after the ban subsides if you decide to rename it. Deleted characters will lose inventory, levels, skills and attainments.
We suggest that a player think carefully about the ramifications of using a potentially offensive name, and keep in mind that with an international player base, Guild Wars players should show consideration to people from all cultures and races.
Please keep in mind that Guild Wars is a global game with hundreds of thousands of players. This means that standards of behaviour must be upheld. For your convenience, you can obtain more information in our "Rules of Conduct" and "Conduct Breaches & Outcomes" pages, which are listed below.
- Rules of Conduct: http://eu.guildwars.com/support/arti...es_of_conduct/
- Conduct Breaches & Outcomes: http://eu.guildwars.com/support/arti..._and_outcomes/
We hope that you will understand why the account block was necessary.

Ummm, 'My Dixie Normus' is offensive to other cultures and races how?
Or maybe they were talking about when I told someone to stop using a racial slur because I was offended by it.
Anet's banhammer team is playing with me.

My name was a personal, jokeful remark, not an offense to anyone else.

Did you report them though?
Dixie Normus itself is just a rhyme with the word dick. If people are offended by that, they will be offended by anything.
Dick is also a nickname for someone called Richard, and I have seen the Indian surname 'Dixit' spelt 'Dickshit' by people who dont actually know English and dont understand what those words mean. But a name that sounds like a naughty word only becomes offensive to an idiot.

Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team.
Characters are blocked if they are found to be using an offensive or inappropriate name. In order for us to serve the Guild Wars community promptly and in a meaningful manner, we do not send warnings nor engage in lengthy dialogues about offensive names. We work as a team on this matter, and discuss name concerns so as to monitor that the action taken is appropriate and fair. We block those names that are found to be unquestionably offensive or inappropriate. Warnings are time-consuming and almost always somewhat pointless. The sorts of names we block are those that the user would or should, via the User Agreement and the Rules of Conduct, be aware would be an inappropriate choice for Guild Wars. These include names that are racist, crudely sexual, culturally degrading, or are of a generally socially unacceptable nature.
In short, character names are blocked when they are found to have a clear and certain level of unacceptability. While a player might desire to enter into an email exchange about the matter or may wish to appeal the decision, that is not a productive task for our Support Team. It is the best interests of the Guild Wars player community to have our Support Team serve the community by assisting players with issues that will be solved with more positive outcomes, or outcomes that serve the community as a whole in a more meaningful way.
After a period of suspension related to the inappropriate name, we allow players to change the character name or to the delete the character. A character deletion would naturally result in the loss of levels and items on that particular character.
We hope that you will show consideration for other players by selecting a name that is appropriate for Guild Wars. Please do be aware that the selection of an inappropriate name in the future would result in additional actions and extended account suspensions.

Well, huge fancy names that are a pain in the ass to say, and even more annoying typing them out are a pet peeve of mine. So maybe it's time to grow down, and stop caring, it is a game after all.

I wouldn't exactly consider cat poop to an adult name.
And no I never got banned for a name.
